STORM SEASON

This drink is like a perfect dive into fall with a goodbye nod to summer. It's essentially a Painkiller cocktail, but with the standard pineapple and orange swapping out to make way for apple and pear. The resulting drink is smooth, easy-to-drink, and orchardy, with a creamy, tropical finish. What better way to celebrate the changing seasons?

Prep time: 5 minutes

Makes 1 cocktail

Ingredients: 

​

2 oz aged rum (I used Old Line 7 Year)
2 oz apple cider 
1 oz pear nectar â €
1 oz lemon juice

1/2 oz Coco Lopez (or other cream of coconut)â €
Freshly grated nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions:

​

1.) In a cocktail shaker, combine all ingredients except for the nutmeg. Fill about 2/3 with ice (the bigger cubes you can use, the better) and shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds. Strain into a highball filled with ice and garnish with a dusting of freshly grated nutmeg. Sip, and enjoy the flavors of fall with a tropical twist.
